What is an abdominal aorta?<\/h2>\n

\u201cAbdominal aorta\u201d is the medical term for the artery in the stomach. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm is a state creating a rupture risk due to an enlargement of any segment of the aorta.<\/p>\n

Originating from the heart, the aorta is the largest artery that enables blood distribution throughout the body. An enlargement up to a point doubling the normal diameter of the aorta, which may occur due to various reasons (congenital, high blood pressure, structural defects, atherosclerosis etc.), is called aortic aneurysm.<\/p>\n

When the aortic aneurysm is in the thorax it is called thoracic aortic aneurysm<\/strong>. The term thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm<\/strong> is used to refer to the aneurysms that expand to both areas.<\/p>\n

It is recorded that the most common reason for the abdominal aortic aneurysm is atherosclerosis, which is an insidious cardiovascular with almost no symptoms in its early stages. Yet, early diagnosis of the disease s crucial for its treatment.<\/p>\n
